The 'Step 1' Guitar Lesson

Of course, you might not feel ready.

That I get.

A big part of actually being ready is not feeling ready. The trick is to find some action to take -- a thing you can pour all of that burgeoning readiness into.

Let's call this 'step 1'.

FINDING YOUR STEP 1

There's no shortage of step 1's available. The trick to finding yours is to stay open and move forward with confidence -- even if you don't have any to speak of. 

This humble offering (the unambiguously titled 'Step 1' Guitar Lesson) is designed to be leapt at -- right here, right now -- as a way to spare yourself the hardship of getting lost in overthinking; between gambling $75 on an impulse and 'browsing your enthusiasm away', the greater danger is browsing your enthusiasm away. 

Trust me. I've done it.

'Browsing' is what happens when we let the fear win, ignore the call of that little intuitive voice that's trying to help us expand in new ways by leading us into unfamiliar territory. Unfamiliar territory is where our new horizons are found and, to grow, we have to seek it out.

So, whether it's a lesson with me or something else entirely with someone else entirely, my advice would be to pick something, do it with someone, and sooner than later.

THIS OPTION

The Step 1 lesson is a one-off event: we meet, we play, we see what's there. No agenda beyond that. (Of course, if we connect and you want to continue working with me, that's great -- but that's a conversation we'll have face to face and a little farther down the road.) 

The bar to book the Step 1 lesson is set intentionally low and I'm very open-minded about who I see.

You don't need to:

• Know anything about music
• Own expensive equipment
• Have obvious, natural talent
• Be sure you'll stick with it

You can be:

• A complete beginner with no musical background
• A late-in-life starter who's long been looking to dive in
• Busy, distracted, inconsistent and lacking confidence
• Completely unsure if this is really the thing for you

The lesson is in-home and lasts forty-five minutes. I'm local to Norwalk and see students as far north as Ridgefield, south as Stamford and east as Fairfield. If you aren't sure whether or not you live in that radius, just reach out before you book.
